The accident happened on the early hours of Sunday morning, 20th October 2019, when Jenifer and Jemima were on their way to church in an Opay tricycle. These two damsels were members of House on the Rock Church and they belonged to the media department.
An eye-witness claimed that the driver of the BMW X5 series ran off his lane, climbed the road barricade into the other lane causing a catastrophic event and three of them were casualties of the reckless driving of a stoned driver whose birthday was that day according to police sources.
A member of the church they attended Mr. Abraham said they entered the tricycle because the bus that convey students left them earlier so they ordered a tricycle to get to church before such disaster approached them on their way.
The Opay driver died on the spot but the two Jossites who were still alive as at that time were rushed to the Nigerian Air force hospital because it was the closest hospital of about 3km away from the accident scene but they were denied access because they had no police report.
Jemima and Jennifer gave up the ghost at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital while the BMW driver was arrested and will soon be charged for manslaughter according to the police.
Processions had been held for both students by members of their departments respectively as they went round the Bauchi Road campus to morn their colleagues.
