MUSIC DEPARTMENT HOSTS 2019 CHRISTMAS CAROL on  November 18, 2019 Posted By  admin  on Nov 18, 2019 |  0 comments The department of music  in the University of Jos hosted a seven lessons Christmas carol to mark the birth of Jesus Christ which was witnessed by staff and students of the University community on Friday, 15th November at the faculty unity hall. The Carol commenced with an opening prayer then the national anthem and the UNIJOS anthem. It was anchored by Dr. Nancy King of theatre and film arts department. She said the event was not about the date but about the reason for the season. The head of department music, Dr. Musa Makhu, in his welcoming address said that it’s the first time the music department is hosting a Christmas carol in November and the last time they held a carol was December 2017. He further explained that the Carol was set for 15th November because the department will be starting their practical exams on Monday 18th Nove

TWO STUDENTS OF UNIJOS DIE IN FAMED RAYFIELD ACCIDENT on  November 14, 2019 NEWS By  Admin   on  Monday, October 21, 2019 A fatal accident on Yinggi Rayfield road, Jos claimed the lives of two students of the University of Jos identified as Jenifer Yilleng, an engineering student who was currently in her 500 level and Jemima Anselm, a mathematics student who was currently in 200 level. The accident happened on the early hours of Sunday morning, 20th October 2019, when Jenifer and Jemima were on their way to church in an Opay tricycle. These two damsels were members of House on the Rock Church and they belonged to the media department. Senator Tashi Launches Operation Keep FASA Clean By  Admin   on  Thursday, October 31, 2019 In order to improve the deplorable sanitary conditions in the faculty of arts, Operation Keep Faculty of Arts Clean (FASA), an initiative of Senator Tashi David Mannaseh, a senator representing the faculty of arts, at the Students union parliament (SUG) was launched.  The Operation Keep Faculty of Arts Clean campaign commenced on Monday the 28th to Wednesday the 30th of October, 2019 and witnessed the sensitization of staff, students on maintaining high sanitary decorum and the donation of sanitary materials to the management of the faculty. Mass Communication Elect EXCOs for 2019/2020. By  Admin   on  Wednesday, November 20, 2019 The atmosphere is tense for students of the department of mass communication faculty of arts Naraguta Campus, the University of Jos as the students of the department emerged in their number to exercise their franchise by voting for candidates of their choices. The election which commenced from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday the 18th of October had about 16 candidates aspiring for various positions in the department. Hence, the atmosphere of the election has been free and fair devoid of any form of violence except for an intrusion from a student who is not from the department and was caught trying to vote using another student’s identity card. 400 LEVEL and 2oo LEVEL WIN AMCOMS 2018/2019 HOD’S CUP Home » News » 400 LEVEL and 2oo LEVEL WIN AMCOMS 2018/2019 HOD’S CUP The 2018/2019 AMCOMS HOD’s  Cup kick started on Tuesday 29th October at the  5 aside pitch at the Naraguta hostel with the female category in which 100 level took against 300 level and witnessed the first half which began at 9am ended in a goalless draw with the two sides playing good football. With the kick  off of the second half, 300 level found the back of the net and then in the 80th minute they added another goal which led them to their victory over 100 level and qualifying for the finals. The male category took place at the pitch behind new general hostel at about 11; 15 am in which 300 level had a 3 – nil victory over 100 level again which eliminated 100 level from the tournament. The second phase of the tournament took place on Wednesday 30th  with 200 level taking on 400 level starting with the female category at the 5-aside pitch at
