The speaker and guest lecturer of the public lecture, Major-General Lee In-tae (rtd) who is also the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Nigeria, urged Nigeria as a developing country to put more effort toward improving the educational sector in its country as  “there is a thin line between education and economic growth”. Mass Communication Elect EXCOs for 2019/2020. By  Admin   on  Wednesday, November 20, 2019 The atmosphere is tense for students of the department of mass communication faculty of arts Naraguta Campus, the University of Jos as the students of the department emerged in their number to exercise their franchise by voting for candidates of their choices. The election which commenced from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday the 18th of October had about 16 candidates aspiring for various positions in the department. Hence, the atmosphere of the election has been free and fair devoid of any form of violence except for an intrusion from a student who is not from the department and was caught trying to vote using another student’s identity card. Senator Tashi Launches Operation Keep FASA Clean By  Admin   on  Thursday, October 31, 2019 In order to improve the deplorable sanitary conditions in the faculty of arts, Operation Keep Faculty of Arts Clean (FASA), an initiative of Senator Tashi David Mannaseh, a senator representing the faculty of arts, at the Students union parliament (SUG) was launched.  The Operation Keep Faculty of Arts Clean campaign commenced on Monday the 28th to Wednesday the 30th of October, 2019 and witnessed the sensitization of staff, students on maintaining high sanitary decorum and the donation of sanitary materials to the management of the faculty. 400 LEVEL and 2oo LEVEL WIN AMCOMS 2018/2019 HOD’S CUP Home » News » 400 LEVEL and 2oo LEVEL WIN AMCOMS 2018/2019 HOD’S CUP The 2018/2019 AMCOMS HOD’s  Cup kick started on Tuesday 29th October at the  5 aside pitch at the Naraguta hostel with the female category in which 100 level took against 300 level and witnessed the first half which began at 9am ended in a goalless draw with the two sides playing good football. With the kick  off of the second half, 300 level found the back of the net and then in the 80th minute they added another goal which led them to their victory over 100 level and qualifying for the finals. The male category took place at the pitch behind new general hostel at about 11; 15 am in which 300 level had a 3 – nil victory over 100 level again which eliminated 100 level from the tournament. REVIEW OF ONGOING CONSTRUCTIONS AT THE NARAGUTA CAMPUS There have been various constructions at the University of Jos Naraguta Campus in the quest to relocate the university main campus at Bauchi Road to the permanent site at the Naraguta Campus. In this respect, the vice chancellor Prof. Sebastine S. Maimako has commissioned various constructions which include faculties and lecture halls. The faculty of engineering has been completed and commissioned, likewise the faculty of management science but yet to be put into use. Some abandoned constructions of lecture halls at the faculty of social science are now commissioned and currently under construction. Some lecture halls are under construction beside the new faculty of engineering, while at the faculty of education some lecture halls are also been under construction. SENATOR FROM ARTS FACULTY DONATES SANITARY MATERIALS By  Admin   on  Wednesday, October 30, 2019 Senator Tashi Manasseh David on Wednesday, 30th October donated sanitary items to the faculty of arts at the end of his campaign initiative tagged: “Healthy Environment Campaign.” The Senator, representing Faculty of Arts constituency at Students Union Government (SUG)  House of Parliament initiated this intervention aimed at complementing the efforts of the faculty management in maintaining sanitary conditions in the faculty. He added that creating a healthy environment for effective learning has become necessary following inappropriate disposing of trash in lecture halls, around the environs of the faculty and careless handling of toilet facilities.
